Information Literacy Stipends

“My course was strengthened by incorporating information literacy components, and this program has the potential to strengthen any course content.”  — Dona Carpenter

The purpose of the Weinberg Memorial Library’s Information Literacy Stipends is to integrate information literacy into academic courses to develop the information literacy skills and abilities of students.

In 2016 the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL) adopted a new document called the Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education. This Framework provides approaches for how faculty can integrate information literacy into their courses. To learn more, read excerpts from the Framework.

Eligible Faculty

Faculty (either full-time or part-time) at The University of Scranton who want to strengthen students’ research abilities in their discipline are eligible to apply for an Information Literacy Stipend. Faculty members who have previously received an Information Literacy Stipend are not eligible to receive a stipend for the same course except in the case of major revisions to the course.
