Possible Project Muse Access Issues

Date: October 25, 2020 at 12:24:17 AM EDT

NOTICE REGARDING PROJECT MUSE ACCESS ISSUES Project MUSE has learned that CISCO’s “TALOS Intelligence” security software recently blacklisted the muse.jhu.edu domain and has classified the reason as “malware.” We have disputed this listing and are actively working to determine the cause, and to have our domain reputation on this product restored to the status of neutral. While we are blacklisted by this product, users whose networks employ this security technology may not be able to access the Project MUSE website. Access for others should not be affected at this time. Some Project MUSE customers have been able to work with their institutional Information Technology departments to confirm whether the CISCO security product mentioned is present on their network, and if so to create an exception which allows them to successfully restore access to MUSE. We recommend that institutional customers currently experiencing difficulty connecting with the Project MUSE website consult their local IT resources to see if they may assist. Project MUSE continues to pursue a resolution with CISCO and will provide updates on the situation as available. We will share information via email, on our homepage, and via our social media channels including Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook. Further questions may be directed to MUSE Customer Support. Thank you for your patience while we work to correct this issue.
