Language Learning Center Graduate Assistants
Ashley Paulino 2025-2026
The Department of World Languages and Cultures at the University of Scranton is excited to welcome Ashley Paulino, serving as the Graduate Assistant in the Language Learning Center for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Andrea Navarro 2025
The Department of World Languages & Cultures welcomed Andrea Navarro in January 2025 as Graduate Assistant in the Language Learning Center (LLC). Ms. Navarro, an MBA student who graduated from the University of Scranton in May 2025 with a concentration in Accounting, finished high school in Mt. Pocono. Ms. Navarro shared that she is “committed to helping students build their confidence and success in their language studies.”
The World Languages and Cultures GA is the face of the LLC. In this role, Ms. Navarro welcomed a cross-section of people (University students, staff, retired members in the community, newcomers to the area) to the Center. In her role as GA, Ms. Navarro helped the LLC to develop a multilingual connection with the Leahy Clinic, assisted other offices on campus with translation, and coordinated with other agencies in the area to meet the needs of ESL learners, among many other responsibilities. Without the talents of our World Languages and Cultures GA, these varied and valuable services would be difficult to organize and continue.
Luis Vasquez 2024
Throughout the academic year, the LLC benefits from the dedication of many student staff members and volunteers. In fall 2024, the Center is under the leadership of our LLC Graduate Assistant, Luis Vasquez, a second-year graduate student studying Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling at the University of Scranton. During his tenure as LLC GA, Mr. Vasquez was a constant presence and helper coordinating and connecting people, making changes and updates in real time to the schedule, and assisting with welcoming drop-ins when all our other tutors were busy. Mr. Vasquez is currently pursuing a multilingual project to assist mental health professionals work across language barriers. As the LLC strives to upholds its mission to foster the growth of individuals and work for justice in the community, we are grateful to have benefited from such creative and big-hearted people as Mr. Vasquez.
Ximena Jimenez 2022-2024

Because of her passion for science, she decided to continue her education here at the University in the Biochemistry MS program while doing truly excellent work helping to lead the Language Learning Center.
