CHEW Weekly Wellness Classes

Spring 2021 Weekly Wellness Class Schedule

CHEW's Weekly Wellness Classes are designed to promote stress reduction and mindfulness and are lead by professional instructors. Classes are free to students, faculty and staff and are a great way to exercise your mind and body. During the Spring 2021 Semester, classes will continue to meet weekly via Zoom. Class codes are listed on RoyalSync or email for meeting codes or to be placed on class announcement email lists.

Class Descriptions

Energizing Yoga and Yoga Flow: This class is for experienced students as well as beginners with a higher fitness level. Breath is emphasized throughout this practice. The class includes sun salutations, standing, seated and reclining poses as well as some balancing poses. Relaxation closes the class.

Wednesdays 5:30pm – 6:15pm

Thursdays 6pm – 7pm

Mindfulness Meditation: This half hour class provides the fundamentals of Mindfulness Mediation which is shown to reduce anxiety, depression and to improve well-being. Through increased awareness of body sensations, thoughts and emotions and a reduction in stress sensations these practices are intended to enhance the participant’s ability to recognize and respond to the stressors of everyday life.
Through meditation and awareness exercises, we will explore this practical time-proven approach to living fully in the present moment.

POUND: POUND® is designed for all fitness levels and provides the perfect atmosphere for letting loose, getting energized, toning up and rockin’ out! The workout is easily modifiable, and the alternative vibe and welcoming philosophy appeals to men and women of all ages and abilities.
Join us on Tuesdays at 6:00 pm to help POUND away stress and channel your inner rock star. (If you don't have drumsticks, participants can use anything straight or rod-shaped up to a quarter-pound in weight- Silicone kitchen utensils are also great alternatives. )

Light Weights & Abs: is an upbeat group fitness class combining total body toning and aerobic exercise. Have fun while burning fat and strengthening your muscles, heart and lungs. Please wear comfortable workout attire and sneakers.
