Virginia A. Picchietti, Ph.D.
EXCELLENCE IN ADVANCING GLOBAL LEARNING
This award is given to a faculty member who has demonstrated noteworthy academic leadership in integrating international issues/perspectives into the curriculum and through whose efforts, students have acquired the competencies, attributes and insights required to meaningfully and successfully participate in an increasingly interdependent world. The recipient of this year’s award is Dr. Virginia Picchietti.
Dr. Picchietti, a Professor of Italian in the World Languages and Cultures Department, Co-Director of the Italian Studies Concentration and Associate Professor in Women's Studies Department, joined the University in 1995. She received her BA in French and Italian in 1987 from Rosary College (now Dominican University), MA in Italian Literature in 1989 and Ph.D. in Italian Literature in 1995 from Indiana University.
