Marian L. Farrell, Ph.D.

EXCELLENCE FOR UNIVERSITY SERVICE AND LEADERSHIP

This award is designed to recognize the efforts of faculty who strive for excellence in service to the University, the profession and the community and who demonstrate academic leadership by effective mentoring of junior colleagues. Dr. Marian Farrell is this years awardee.

Dr. Farrell has a long history of service to the University. Marian serves as the faculty liasion to the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence. Marian has been the chairperson of the Library Advisory Committee since 1995. In addition, she served as the chairperson of the Committee on the Status of Women from 2000-2012, and she served on the Title IX Workgroup to develop policies and procedures. In addition, Dr. Farrell's service includes serving on the Board of Rank and Tenure and many years of service on the Faculty Senate. Currently, Dr. Farrell is the Faculty Senate President. She also seves on the General Education Assessment Committee., Academic Policy Committee, and so much more! Her outside community service is also impressive. She was appointed to the Community Care Behavioral Health Organization Psychiatric Advisory Board, the Pastoral Council of her curch and the Northeast Pennsylvania affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
