Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) & Confirmation Preparation

RCIA is the process for students to become fully initiated members of the Roman Catholic Church by receiving the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. Please email the Campus Ministry office if you're interested in learning more.

Spiritual Direction

Spiritual direction provides an opportunity for a student to reflect one-on-one with a qualified spiritual director about the events of one’s life, as well as on a person’s relationship with God and others. Spiritual Direction is conducted privately and confidentially. Spiritual Directors Cathy Seymour, catherine.seymour@scranton.edu or Amy Hoegen, amy.hoegen@scranton.edu, are available for further information.

Monthly XLT Adoration

Join The Diocese of Scranton Office of Parish Life and Vocations for XLT-style Eucharistic Adoration, live Praise & Worship music, a reflection, the opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and a social afterward!  This month, our very own Kyra Krywicki, a 2023 graduate, will be delivering the reflection, and can't wait to share her heart with you.

Monthly XLT Adoration is held the first Thursday of every month at St. Maria Goretti in Laflin. The next adoration is October 5, 2023.

Pray Our Way To Sunday

We read Gospel and then the Gospel reads us!

This weekly gathering of students is an opportunity to reflect on and discuss how the upcoming Gospel reading for Mass on Sunday speaks to us in our everyday lives.  Participants learn how to approach Scripture with both head and heart and are challenged to “get out of the way” and let God’s Word speak to them.

Candlelight Meditation

Find peace in the middle of a hectic week.

Unwind while listening to a reflective meditation followed by snacks and fellowship! Usually held in Sacred Heart Chapel.

Praise and Worship (PAW)

This is a student run group that gathers and enjoys Faith, Friendship, Song and Relaxation. Meetings are held on Wednesday evening in the Montrone Multipurpose Room. All are welcome!

First Sunday Dinner

A group of young adults gather the first Sunday of every month for 5PM Mass at the Cathedral of St. Peter and dinner at your own cost downtown afterward! This event is hosted by the Diocese of Scranton and a great way for young adults to form and maintain faith-filled friendships! Please RSVP at this link so we have a number to tell the restaurant.

Theology on Tap

This year we will be partnering with the Diocese of Scranton for this event. Join us for an evening of pizza, drinks, and great lessons in theology! This month, a former investigative detective will be giving us some clues on how to better see God working in our lives and is scheduled for October 12, 2023 at 7 PM. Upcoming date are November 9th, and December 14, 2023 at 7 PM.

Theology on Tap is held at Sabatini's Bottleshop in Exeter, PA. You must be 21 to participate and ID is required. There is an $5 cover and includes admission, pizza and soft drinks. Interested students, please contact campusministry@scranton.edu to receive reimbursement for the cover.
