Bible Study
We read Gospel and then the Gospel reads us!
This weekly gathering of students is an opportunity to reflect on and discuss how the upcoming Gospel reading for Mass on Sunday speaks to us in our everyday lives. Participants learn how to approach Scripture with both head and heart and are challenged to “get out of the way” and let God’s Word speak to them.
Bible Study is held on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM in the Campus Ministry Conference Room, The DeNaples Center, Room 200. Any questions, please contact Patty Pivirotto via email or at 570-941-5458.

Get Up & Pray!
For the last two years, the Diocese of Scranton Vocations Office has sponsored a special event called Get Up & Pray to encourage you to pray for our priests, seminarians, and vocations at the Altar of Repose on Holy Thursday, commemorating the night Christ instituted the Priesthood and the Eucharist. The title, Get Up & Pray, comes from Luke’s account of the Garden of Gethsemane - “Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation” (Luke 22:46).
We’re once again inviting you to Get Up & Pray this year! Assemble a group of friends, family, or fellow parishioners to visit the Altar of Repose in as many churches as you can, snap a photo of your group or the churches you visit, and share them with us on Instagram using the “Add Yours” sticker that can be found on our Instagram Story that night.
For a list of Altar of Repose schedules to begin planning your routes anywhere in our 11 counties, visit https://www.dioceseofscranton.org/join-us-at-the-altar-of-repose-on-holy-thursday-2025/.
“Dear young people, we didn’t come into this world to ‘vegetate,’ to take it easy, to make our lives a comfortable sofa to fall asleep on. No, we came for another reason: to leave a mark.”
Pope Francis
