Pray, The Story of Patrick Peyton Screening
This is an inspiring documentary about an Irish immigrant who sets sail for America in 1928. Arriving in Pennsylvania and unable to find work, he accepts the position as a janitor at the cathedral, which rekindles his desire to become a priest and changes the course of his life. He convinces Hollywood’s biggest stars to help him spread the message, “The family that prays together stays together.” Father Peyton’s fame spreads around the world and audiences in the millions flock to his public prayer rallies. This is the story of a tireless missionary, an unlikely hero, and one of history’s greatest advocates for family prayer.
Leave a Mark Mass
The Dioceses of Scranton's annual Leave a Mark Mass kicks off National Vocation Awareness Week and will be held on November 5th at 5PM at the Cathedral of St. Peter! Bishop Bambera will celebrate Mass with young adults from throughout the Diocese of Scranton who wish to answer Pope Francis’ invitation to young people to “leave a mark” on the world. Fr. Alex Roche, Director of Vocations and Seminarians, will be delivering the homily this year! After the Mass, enjoy delicious food from local food trucks, some intense rounds of cornhole and card games, and quality time with fellow young Catholics at the Diocesan Pastoral Center across the street.
