Teresa’s work with the Faculty Seante began in 2010 with membership on the Technology Advisory Group which led to her joining the Academic Policy Committee of the Senate. Teresa was instrumental in developing the Eloquentia Perfecta component of Scranton’s General Education curriculum, helping to form the writing and oral communication skills of our students as part of Jesuit education.

Teresa’s work was integral in the review of GE assessment processes, and the review of GE goals, objectives, and outcome documents produced by the committee. Her work with the committee continued with the formulation of possible new structures for the General Education, with Teresa as an active committee member deeply committed to the GE revision process.

In 2023, Teresa was elected at the faculty Senate President-Elect, and in 2024 assumed the role of Faculty Senate President, where she has represented the interests of the faculty as a whole through her dedicated leadership. Dr. Grettano’s dedication is represented by her willingness to serve an additional term as Senate President next year.

In addition, Teresa has served many other roles at the University, including Director of the Ellacuria Initiative, Director of the First-Year Seminar Program, Director of the Presidential Scholars Programs, and Director of First-Year Writing.
