About the Pilgrimage

The Jesuit Center's Kino Border Initiative will take place January 16-22, 2027.

This pilgrimage will offer faculty and staff the opportunity to visit The Kino Border Initiative in Nogales, AZ. This transformative experience will immerse participants in the realities of life on the border and consider important questions of accompaniment, just migration policies, and what it means to live in a globalized world.

Want to Apply?

When considering an application for this pilgrimage, we ask you to consider the difficult realities we will be encountering as part of our experience. While your personal safety is always secure, it is expected that we will be faced with uncomfortable situations and expected to participate in conversations which may be well out of our comfort zone.

Faculty and Staff discerning an application are invited to consider the following questions.

 1. What makes you think you are ready to benefit from this program, how does it relate to your personal commitments and desire for growth, and why do you feel called to participate?

2. In what ways would an experience such as this animate your understanding of the mission and purpose of the University of Scranton, and do you anticipate areas in which you could incorporate the experience into your work at the University?
