Dr. Carpenter has been working in Professional Nursing Practice since 1979. She joined the Nursing department at the University of Scranton in 1985. During her tenure at Scranton she has taught both undergraduate and graduate course work in research and ethics.  She also taught medical surgical nursing in the classroom and in clinical. In addition to teaching she has served as RN-BSN program director, Undergraduate Program Director, and  Department Chair. Dr. Carpenter has authored and coauthored multiple journal articles, chapters and books on Nursing Education, Qualitative Research and Service Learning.
