“During the summer of 2019, I had an internship opportunity to relocate from Florida State University to downtown Scranton to work for General Dynamics. After some research, I decided to stay at the Intern Housing at The University of Scranton. Right off the bat, the staff was both helpful and flexible to make sure my temporary move was as smooth as possible. On arrival, I was greeted and provided details of housing and surrounding community events and locations.

The location could not have been better as I was within walking distance to work, trails and waterfall, coffee shops, and restaurants along with a five-minute drive to my gym and Lackawanna River. I loved being a short drive from hikes and lakes and only two hours from Manhattan, Philadelphia, and Ithaca. The convenient location provided avenues of physical and mental breakaways from the stress of the internship.

The housing was dorm-style which provided individual privacy and access to a shared kitchen and bathroom. This made it easy to connect with my roommate and cook meals daily. The access to on-campus libraries made it easy to study for summer classes.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the intern housing at the University of Scranton and would recommend it to any student that is looking for more than just a place to stay for their summer internships.”
