Recent Student Research

Most renowned psychology programs offer few opportunities for undergraduates to conduct research with faculty. Not so at the University of Scranton!

We encourage all of our students to engage in research. In fact, Scranton pyschology students present and publish with faculty at a much higher rate than national norms. In 2021-2022, for instance, 14 Scranton students coauthored conference presentations (resulting in 21 conference presentations) and 3 Scranton students coauthored journal articles/book chapters.

Our students gain psychology research experience through four avenues. They can:

  • Volunteer their time as a research assistant without academic credit.
  • Participate in the Faculty/Student Research Program, a university-wide program, for transcript recognition.
  • Enroll in Undergraduate Research in Psychology (PSYC 493), which provides both academic credit and transcript recognition.
  • Conduct research and write a thesis as part of the Honors Program.
