Local Services

1.     Women’s Resource Center of Lackawanna County is a confidential, community-based agency serving those who have experienced sexual assault or other sexual misconduct. A counselor/advocate can be reached 24 hours a day by calling (570) 346-4671.

National Resources

1.     National Sexual Assault Hotline is a free, confidential national resource available 24 hours a day by calling (800) 656-HOPE or https://hotline.rainn.org/online 

2.     National Domestic Violence Hotline – 24 Hours: 1-(800) 799-SAFE(7233)

3.     National Immigrant Women's Advocacy Project (NIWAP) addresses the needs of immigrant women, immigrant children and immigrant victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other crimes by advocating for reforms in law, policy, and practice. 4.     Trevor Project provides 24/7 crisis support services to LGBTQ young people. Text, chat, or call anytime to reach a trained counselor: 1-866-488-7386

5.     National Street Harassment Hotline is a resource for those affected by gender-based street harassment. Support is available in English and Spanish: Call (855) 897-5910

6.     Stop It Now provides information to victims and parents/relatives/friends of child sexual abuse. The site also has resources for offender treatment as well as information on recognizing the signs of child sexual abuse. Hotline: 888-PREVENT (773.8368)

7.     UJIMA – National Center on Violence Against Women in the Black Community, Call 1-844-77-UJIMA (85462) for information on resources currently available.
