- Create a resume to prepare for any career opportunity

- Become involved in clubs and organizations, such as Psychology Club to enhance interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
- Join professional networks such as the American Psychological Society and American Psychological Association
- Participate in volunteer activities in the Jesuit tradition
- Maintain a good GPA and seek out the resources available at the CTLE
- Build relationships with professors, advisors, and staff to add to your existing network

- Explore graduate school program options
- Take the 1-credit Career Development Seminar (PSYC 390)
- Consider conducting research with psychology faculty through the FRSP
- Meet with your career counselor to update your career plan
- Update your professional documents such as resume, cover letter, LinkedIn profile, and Handshake profile to apply for internships or research opportunities
- Obtain practical/internship experience
- Continue to network with professionals using LinkedIn and alumni gatherings
- Maintain involvement in extracurricular activities and take on a leadership role
- Attend Virtual Career Events and Fairs
- Participate in career-related workshops and presentations sponsored by the Center for Career Development
- Apply for membership (if your GPA qualifies) for membership in Scranton’s chapter of Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology
- Apply for Psychology’s Summer Internship through the Career Development Office
- Apply for research funding through Psychology’s Silsbee Research Award
- Attend a regional or national psychology conference with fellow students
- Practice interviewing with a mock interview or use Big Interview
- At the end of junior year, ask to serve as an undergraduate Teaching Assistant (TA) for a psychology professor
- If you are planning to attend graduate school:
- Attend Virtual Career Events and Fairs
- Explore graduate school program options and take the necessary entrance tests
- Enroll in the for-credit psychology field experiences (PSYC 480 or 481)
- Continue research with psychology faculty members and perhaps take it for credit (PSYC 493)
- Meet with your career counselor to update your career plan
- Obtain additional practical experiences, such as internships or research opportunities
- Ask to serve as an undergraduate Teaching Assistant (TA) for a psychology professor
