The Roche Family Center for Career Development turns passions into opportunities.
Our services and personalized counseling put students on the fast track to finding internships and jobs, pursuing advanced degrees and building relationships with a global alumni network. That's why 98% of Scranton undergraduates achieve employment, enroll in continuing education, serve in the military or participate in long-term service within six months of graduation.
Whether it's for first-year students or alumni seeking a fresh start, Career Development staff are happy to assist with resume building, interview prep and more.

Handshake Platform
The center uses Handshake, an online platform where organizations post jobs and internship opportunities, as well as virtual and in-person events, which provides students with access to a wide range of opportunities that appeal to students with various interests and occupational goals. These third-party opportunities and events are neither hosted nor endorsed by the University. Students are encouraged to use discretion and due diligence during the search process as they vet potential employers to ensure congruence with their goals and values.

We work closely with academic advising teams on campus. Our Career Roadmap tool provides a year-by-year preview of key classes and milestones based on each major, helping chart your path to success.
And if you're undecided, that's OK. We'll work with you to identify the right fit based on your strengths and interests.
Resume Review
We offer detailed guides for crafting resumes and cover letters that help your achievements stand out. For more personalized assistance, meet with a career coach who will review your resume and offer feedback.
Internships and Job Search Assistance
Meet with a career coach to establish goals, research industries geared to your major and get information about jobs and Scranton's spring and fall career fairs.
Once your application materials are ready, it's time to start reaching out to employers. Make connections with the Scranton alumni network through LinkedIn, or use career platforms such as Vault or Interstride to search for jobs and internships and find helpful resources.
Undergraduates who accept an unpaid internship may apply for the Royal Experience Summer Internship Program, which provides a stipend of up to $2,000 to cover any costs. Students in all majors are eligible.

Interview Rooms
Do you need to find a quiet place on campus for the interview? We've got you covered.
The Center for Career Development offers secluded rooms students can book for virtual and phone interviews. Making appointments is easy through the Handshake platform.
Royal Threads Closet
All students can look their best with Royal Threads, a clothing closet located inside the Career Center.
Students can try on and keep business professional and business casual items that can be worn at career fairs, interviews and networking events. Try on and select one complete outfit, or just one or two individual items to complete your professional look.
The Royal Threads closet is free through the generosity of our sponsors.
