Center for Service and Social Justice

Campus Ministries' Center for Service and Social Justice is committed to advancing the Jesuit tradition of forming men and women for others.  The programs sponsored by this office include providing Volunteer Opportunities for students, Social Justice programming, Domestic Service trips, food and clothing drives, on campus activities, mentoring with children, teens and adults (both on and off campus), information and planning for those wishing to do Post-Graduate service.  Each element enables the students to express their faith in reflective service while responding to local and national needs.

The vision of Campus Ministries' Center for Service and Social Justice will be boldly driven by a shared commitment to excellence. We will provide a superior, transformational learning experience, preparing students who, in the words of Jesuit founder St. Ignatius Loyola, will "set the world on fire".  We remain committed to the ideals embodied by the priests of the Society of Jesus throughout its rich history. Those Jesuit ideals include an emphasis on academic excellence, the importance of the liberal arts, and cura personalis—the education of the whole person.

A part of the Student Formation and Campus Life division, under Campus Ministries, we are located on the 2nd floor of The DeNaples Student Center, in room 205B.

How do I request student volunteers for my non-profit agency?

Fill out our Request for Volunteers form at least 2 weeks prior to your event.  While we cannot promise volunteers, we will make every attempt to advertise your activity/event to our study body with proper notice.  Please refer to our academic calendar to view dates when our students are in session.

We also host a Volunteer and Service fair each September that is attended by 800 students.  Our next scheduled fair date is September 11, 2018.  Registration opens on August 1st.  If you are interested in hosting a table, please email
