Cindy Klenk

Cindy Klenk is the Senior Policy Advisor for Pennsylvania State Senator, John Blake.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Marywood University.  She taught for several years before starting a family.  While raising her children, she ran a business from home where she educated many individuals about nutritional and environmental wellness.  Several years later she was asked to sit on the local Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and within a year was appointed to President/Executive Director.  As President, she was instrumental in brokering the deal for the 1903 building on Main Street which would become the home for the Greater Carbondale Chamber of Commerce.  During her eight years at the Chamber, she spearheaded the successful, “Strategic Plan,” a twenty-one million dollar, fifteen year vision for development of Carbondale’s Main Street/ Downtown, and also served as Community Development Director for the City of Carbondale.  Upon completion of her work with the Chamber, she was asked to steward ASPIRE, a non-profit working with young people to develop a vision and passion for their lives. Two years later, John Blake asked Cindy to manage his Senatorial Campaign.  Achieving a successful run, Senator John Blake asked that Cindy be his Senior Policy Advisor, traveling to Harrisburg for Session days, and working with constituents in the district office.  In December 2012, Cindy co-produced the E2 Summit, a bi-partisan event hosted by Senator John Blake. The Summit brought together Legislators, School Superintendents, Higher Education, Business and Industry, to discuss the educational and economic impact of a career focused education.  She currently resides in Greenfield Township, with her companion, Behnam Bakhshandeh, their dogs, Oliver and Max and their cat, Eloise.  She is the proud mother of three children, Nicole, Portland OR, Jonathan, Tampa, FL, and Emilie, Philadelphia, PA.
