Accreditation, Certification and Licensure
Program Accreditation
We are proud to announce that in August 2023, the program was accredited for an eight-year term through 2031!
National Certified Counselor (NCC) Certification
Most of our students take and pass the NCE before they graduate. By passing the NCE and completing their master’s degree, they are eligible to be NCCs by completing the paperwork and paying the required dues. This is a board-certification as a counselor across the United States and shows that they have met the rigorous standards. The NCC credential is administered by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).

State Licensure
Our program is set up to meet the educational requirements for licensure in Pennsylvania and most other states. Graduates can complete our program, pass a licensing test (most commonly the NCE), and complete post-master’s supervised practice hours (3,000 hours in Pennsylvania) to be eligible for licensure.
