WHAT IS CHI DELTA RHO?

Chi Delta Rho is the local chapter of Chi Sigma Iota (CSI) Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International at the University of Scranton.

OUR MISSION

The mission of Chi Sigma Iota is to promote scholarship, research, professionalism, leadership, and excellence in counseling and to recognize high attainment in the pursuit of academic and clinical excellence in the profession of counseling.

We promote a strong professional identity through members (professional counselors, counselor educators, and students) who contribute to the realization of a healthy society by fostering wellness and human dignity.

HISTORY

Founded at Ohio University in 1985, Chi Sigma Iota currently has over 100,000 members affiliated with campus-based chapters contributing to their counselor education programs and communities. Chapters are funded in part by CSI.

CSI is one of the largest associations of professional counselors in the world with annual active membership equally balanced between professional and student members. Among the professional members, over 1,600 are counselor educators and supervisors while the remainder are practicing counselors in all settings and specialties of counseling.

The Chi Delta Rho chapter was established at the University of Scranton in 1994 by Dr. Ann Marie Toloczko. Our chapter currently has more than 60 active members including current students, alumni, and faculty. We focus on promoting excellence in the profession of counseling and hope to get members involved in professional development, community engagement, wellness, and more.

HOW CAN I BECOME A MEMBER?
