Beta Alpha Psi-Nu Kappa Chapter
The University of Scranton’s Nu Kappa Chapter of BAP is the International Honor Organization for Financial Information Students and Professionals. It recognizes students' outstanding academic achievements in the field of accounting, finance, and information systems. There are over 300 chapters on college and university campuses with over 300,000 members initiated since Beta Alpha Psi's formation. For more information, visit the national website.
Requirements for Candidacy
- ACC, FIN, or OM major
- Completion of at least one 300-level major course
- 3.20 cumulative and major GPA
- Satisfactory progress in attaining profession and community service hours in the following increments (during the course of the application year – deadline is typically the week before Spring Break):
- 4 professional hours
- 4 community service hours
- 2 additional professional or community service hours
- New candidate applications, CAPP Report, and $78 one-time Candidate fee are accepted either in the Spring or Fall semesters (typically right prior to Spring/Fall break) with induction occurring during the Annual Accounting Department Dinner in May each year
Membership Duties and Benefits
- Required completion of 8 professional hours, 8 community service hours, and 4 additional professional or community service hours, annually
- 1-3 community service events during the course of each semester
- Networking opportunities

- Professional and internship panel discussions
- Professional speakers from different areas of accounting
- CPA Exam informational sessions and mock exams
- Opportunity to volunteer with fundraising events

Institute of Management Accountants
Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) is the worldwide association of accountants and financial professionals in business. The University of Scranton's student chapter provides the opportunity for students to learn valuable leadership skills, earn certifications, prepare for future careers in accounting, and connect with with other members of this 125,000 person network. The IMA recognized The University of Scranton’s student chapter, as one of just five Outstanding Student Chapters in the nation for the 2018-2019 academic year.

Member Duties and Benefits
- Members are eligible for scholarships

- Events such as club trips, site visits, student conferences, and case competitions

- Opportunity to join the IMA's Accounting Honor Society (IAHS)

Open to Accounting, Finance, and IT majors in at least their junior year with an overall and accounting GPA of 3.0
