As the Instructional Technologist/Technical Operations and Projects Manager in the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE), my primary job responsibilities include:  Managing the Instructional Technology Projects that come into the Center; Hiring, training and managing a group of technologically savvy student technical consultants (TechCons) who assist faculty and students in the use of instructional technology; Training and assisting faculty with the Learning Management System; Technical administration of the Online Course Evaluation System and Teacher of the Year Ballot; coordinating the development, implementation and maintenance of programs and policies necessary for the CTE technology infrastructure; and Assisting in the coordination of learning and enrichment opportunities for faculty and students. Another component of my work involves the automation of logistics for other services provided through the CTE, such as Tutoring, Testing Accommodations for Students with Disabilities, Reading and Writing.

There is an instructional lab in the CTE that contains high-end software and hardware in an environment that is very well suited for collaboration. Some of the instructional technology services offered include: assessment of the technology needs of faculty and students; demonstration and instruction on technology that is available; assistance and training with the Learning Management System; faculty web page development; audio/video digitizing and streaming services; creating E-Portfolios; enhancing PowerPoint presentations; scanning; and instruction on how to use technology on campus for pedagogical purposes.  Faculty and students can stop by the lab or call and make an appointment.
