Rate Objectives

When it is time to start the evaluation process, you will receive an email notifying you at your U of S Outlook account. You will need to select your objectives for the course. It is recommended that you select three to five objectives to be rated as essential or important if that is suitable for your class. Follow the following steps to set your objectives.

1. You can start the process by selecting the link in the email, go directly to Blue at https://scranton.bluera.com/, or by selecting the Course Evaluations tab from the navigation bar on the home page in Brightspace.

2. You then begin a series of tasks. However, do not select “I have finished all my tasks, please stop sending me reminders.” or you will not be able to track the student response rates when the evaluation collection begins. You will not continue to receive email reminders once you complete the tasks.

3. In Blue, you will see a card for each of your courses. Select the three dots at the bottom right of the card to set your objectives and add custom questions.

4. On the screen that opens, you will see the objective selection and the place to set optional questions. Select “Expand all” to see the full list of the potential objectives. The critical thing here is that each objective is listed under the Essential and Important categories. Do not select the same objectives for both categories, or this will negatively impact your scoring for objective achievement. See the information on custom questions presented separately.

5. When you finish setting your objectives, make sure you select “Preview” to see what students will see before submitting your choices. You do not want to include the same objective for the Essential and Important categories. After previewing, select “Submit.”

6. Finally, you will need to select “Launch” for students to be invited to evaluate your course.
