Pathways for Success

Students in our Biology major have a variety of post-graduate interests. Together with the CAS Advising Center, Pre-Health Advisors, and the wonderful faculty members in the Biology Department, we will advise students throughout their academic career and prepare them for success upon graduation.  Just as each of our students bring their own unique qualities to our program, students may also create unique pathways that lead to their post-graduate endeavors. However, through years of experience, we will also share with students what we have found best prepares them along their journey.

Below you will find examples of specific pathways that a student could use to achieve success dependent on their career aspirations. Remember, there is always flexibility in a student’s curricular pathway, and your academic advisors will help guide you along your adventure.

Pathways

For some post-graduate interests, there may exist more than one pathway for a student to choose from. These different examples are based on a student’s particular interests. Similarly, a student may alter their pathway to fit their particular interests – pathways are simply a framework that the student can start from. Your academic advisors will assist you in determining where changes can be made. All Biology majors, however, must meet the requirements of the Biology curriculum/Portfolio.

The Biology Department plans to continue adding to this list of pathways. Please feel free to check back at a later date, or if there is a particular interest for another pathway, then please feel free to reach out to the Biology Chair, Christopher Howey (christopher.howey@scranton.edu).
