Summer Courses at Scranton

Have a tough course coming up next year or a general education requirement you need to fulfill? Take a summer course at Scranton! 

With the convenience of a reduced tuition rate of $650/credit*, a summer course can help you get ahead.

  • Summer I: May 26 - June 23, 2026
  • Summer II: July 6 - 31, 2026
(*) Please note that this discounted rate does not apply to graduate coursework. 


Courses for credit are available to:
  • Current University of Scranton students
  • Visiting students from another college or university
  • High school students enrolled in Scranton's High School Scholars program.

Below, you will find everything you need to get started with a summer course at Scranton.

Current Scranton Undergraduate Students

Depending on the number of course credits you have successfully completed and received credit for on your academic record, summer 2026 registration for undergraduate students begins on the following dates: 

  • April 9, if you have 60.00 or more hours earned,
  • April 14, if you have 30.00–59.99 hours earned,
  • April 16, if you have 0.00–29.99 hours earned.

Contact your advising center or register online to add a summer course. Financial Aid questions can be directed to the Financial Aid Office at finaid@scranton.edu.

Current Scranton Graduate Students

New Graduate Applicants: Summer 2026 Registration for Graduate students begins on March 25. 

Remember that you must meet with your Graduate Advisor to obtain your term PIN to register via the Web.

Visiting Undergraduate and Graduate Students

Visiting Undergraduate Students: If you are an undergraduate student enrolled at another college or university, you will need to complete our Non-Degree-Seeking Application and attach written approval from the dean or other authorized administrator of your home college for all courses to be taken at The University of Scranton.

Visiting Graduate Students: 

If you are attending a graduate program at another institution, you may enroll in an on-campus or online course at Scranton by completing the Non-Degree-Seeking Application.

You will have to submit the following in addition to the application:

  • Self-Improvement Applicants:
    • An official copy of your final bachelor’s degree transcript, along with any official transcripts showing post-baccalaureate coursework
  • Visiting (Transfer of Credit) Applicants:
    • Written approval from the dean, registrar, or other authorized administrator at your home graduate school verifying your status as a student in good standing

High School Students

High school students from the local area are invited to apply for our High School Scholars Program. Students accepted to this program are eligible to take one course per term at a reduced tuition rate.
