Institutional Reports
Since January 15, 2019, The University of Scranton has published its Timothy Piazza Anti-Hazing Report on January 1 and August 1 of each year to publicly report violations of the University’s Hazing Prohibition Policy as required by Commonwealth of Pennsylvania law. Report includes the subject of the report, date the subject was charged, general description of the incident, investigation, findings and sanctions, and the date the matter was resolved. Finally, in accordance with the law, the University maintains reports for five years.
In December 2024, the Stop Campus Hazing Act was signed into law by President Biden. The act requires colleges to compile and publish a Campus Hazing Transparency Report (CHTR) that summarizes findings concerning any student organization found in violation of the institution’s hazing policy. The report must include the name of the student organization, a general description of the violation, and related dates (date of alleged incident, date of initiation of investigation, date the investigation ended with a finding, and date the institution provided notice to the organization of the finding). The first CHTR will be published in December 2025 and will be updated at least twice per year.
