Katie Gilmartin

 Raised in a family of educators, Katie Gilmartin was a student of the Abington Heights School District through the 8th grade.  She is a graduate of Scranton Preparatory School and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Production from Fordham University, Fordham College at Lincoln Center.  During her four years at Fordham, Ms. Gilmartin pursued work in her field with organizations including the Juilliard School, TheatreFest at Montclair University, The Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D.C., Naked Angels and The New Victory Theatre.  Upon graduation, Ms. Gilmartin resided in Manhattan and became employed full-time at the Juilliard School.  This opportunity led to positions as wardrobe supervisor at Bat Boy: The Musical at the Union Square Theare, costume department coordinator at Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and on-set seamstress for the Discovery Channel series Surprise by Design.

In 2005, Ms. Gilmartin returned to Northeastern Pennsylvania and becaem a partner at Nada & Co.  She is a Sustaining Member and Past President of the Junior League of Scranton, an impact Member of Women in Philanthropy serving as Co-Chariman of the Entrepreneurship.MIcro-Lending Circle and a trustee of the Scranton Area Foundation.  She is a member-at-large of the Historical Architecture Review Board and the Chairman of the Board of Diretors of the Scranton Shakespeare Festival.  Ms. Gilmartin serves on the Board of Directors of The Society for Preservation of theTripp Family Homestead and on the Advisory Council for Ballet Theatre of Scranton.

In November of 2017, Ms. Gilmartin was elected to a four-year term on the Scranton School Board.  She is currently serving as the chariman of the Policy and Public Relations committeess and on the Joint Operating Committee of the Career Technology Center
