Research Interests

Our faculty's research interests are diverse and varied, straddling the fields of Management, Marketing and Entrepreneurship experience, their emerging pedagogical practices and current industry standards related to group and consumer behavior.

Dr. Peter Andersen

Dr. Andersen's primary research interests include marketing strategy, pricing, consumer behavior, social media, digital marketing, sales, retailing, marketing channels, global marketing, branding, and services marketing. He is regularly published in highly regarded trade and academic publications.  He in an awarded conference presenter and publication reviewer

Dr. Satya Chattopadhyay

Dr. Chattopadhyay is a skilled researcher interested in the field of Marketing. He routinely teaches Marketing Research Methods on the undergraduate level. Dr. Chattopadhyay is also a skilled presenter and has worked collaboratively with student scholars on various research initiatives.

Dr. Ovidiu Cocieru

In tandem with his work in the classroom, Dr. Cocieru has proven himself as a researcher having published or presented his work in twenty academic journals and conferences and has served as a reviewer for eight academic journals and conferences.  He has been awarded for his scholarship in community-based learning and sustainability in industry by The University.

Prof. Ann Cummings

Professor Cummings is a skilled researcher focused on Management best practices and emerging pedagogical trends in Management programs. She has worked collaboratively with other members of the faculty on studies concerning group dynamics and Ignatian Business Curricula.

Dr. Robert Giambatista

Dr. Giambatista's areas of research include teams and leadership, and particularly factors relating to their effectiveness.  His published and on-going teams research to date has focused on shifting deadlines and on the role played by communication technology on diversity and team effectiveness.  He has also published research on leader succession and effectiveness. More recently, much of his research has focused on various pedagogical and learning innovations and their efficacy in improving managerial (interpersonal) skills. 

Hehas been published in some of management’s most prestigious journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Management Science, Leadership Quarterly, and Academy of Management Learning & Education. His research had been cited over 1000 times according to Google Scholar, he had published 18 peer-reviewed research articles, and made 30 refereed or invited presentations.

Dr. Taewan Kim

Dr. Kim's  research interests focus on innovation, knowledge management, and organizational strategy, as evidenced by his published works in notable journals such as the Journal of Strategic Innovation and Sustainability and the International Journal of Quality Innovation. Dr. Kim has also contributed significantly to academic and professional communities through his roles on editorial boards, as a reviewer, and through invited speeches on topics ranging from innovation to global business strategies. His commitment to academia and service has been recognized with several awards, including the Faculty Development Grant and Outstanding Article Award at the University of Scranton.

Dr. Robert McKeage

Dr. McKeage's “Developmental Patterns in Small and Large Groups,” published in Small Group Research is among the most-cited articles, attain thousands of references over the years in the more than 600 journals published by SAGE, one of the world’s leading publishers of scholarly research publications.  Dr. McKeage’s , ranks 23rd among SAGE’s most-cited articles.
He also ranks as one of Northeastern Pennsylvania’s “Top Educators” by the Northeastern Pennsylvania Business Journal, Dr. McKeage continues his active research efforts, with recent publications focusing on improving student mentoring.  

Prof. Gregory O'Connell Esq.

Attorney O'Connell has been a practicing Attorney since 1982. He specializes in business formation, bankruptcy, wills and estates and purchasing, sale and refinancing of real estate. 

Dr. Mehmet Ali Yetim

 Dr. Yetim holds The Bedeian Award for Excellence in Research, James Reddoch Graduate Student Award for Excellence in Teaching and the Friedhelm Goronzy Endowed Superior Graduate Student Scholarship from that institution. He was awarded full funding for graduate-level education from the Ministry of National Education in the Republic of Turkey in 2015. Areas of interest for his research activities include sustainable decision-making among employee-owned companies, empathy-driven venture designs, a multi-stakeholder approaches to organizational leadership, and transformative service innovations that empower communities directly affected by business decisions.

Dr. Xinyu Zhou

Dr. Zhou’s research interests lie in consumer decision-making and consumer ethics. Her recent work, presented at the Winter American Marketing Association (AMA) Conference—an internationally recognized gathering of marketing scholars—examined how behavioral nudges can improve employee well-being, especially in contexts where compensation is limited, and economic conditions are challenging. Her research highlights the potential for marketing tools to be used not only for consumer engagement but also for promoting internal welfare within organizations. 

Dr. John Zych

Dr. Zych's research interests include new product development and pricing, marketing strategy, marketing communications, marketing ethics, and marketing education. This reflects his prior career in product planning and development in the aerospace transportation and communication industries.
