Client Supplied Materials Policy

The IDEA Center is an educational makerspace and training facility that provides access to equipment, instruction, and hands-on learning experiences. Fabrication processes, including embroidery, laser engraving, 3D printing, CNC machining, vinyl application, and other maker technologies, involve inherent risks. Despite careful planning and reasonable care by IDEA Center staff and student employees, damage to customer supplied materials may occur.

By choosing to use IDEA Center equipment or services, users acknowledge and accept these risks. The IDEA Center and The University of Scranton are not responsible for the repair, replacement, or reimbursement of customer supplied materials that are damaged during the fabrication process.

Requests for reimbursement can be sent to the Director of the IDEA Center, and may, at their sole discretion, authorize reimbursement or another appropriate resolution in exceptional circumstances. Any decision to provide reimbursement is a one-time accommodation and does not establish a precedent for future requests.
