The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning
In every classroom, you engage in thinking about your teaching, through your planning for instruction, through minor adjustments based on the non-verbal cues of your students, through formal adjustments based on assessment results, and through your planning for future terms after analyzing student evaluation feedback. The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) formalizes these reflections through the systematic collection and analysis of this data for publication. It also allows the opportunity to ask questions about pedagogy, and investigate the answers through the implementation and analysis of new pedagogical practices.
