MICRO]GRANTS: Women's Swimming And Diving

The University of Scranton women’s swimming & diving team is in the midst of a run of unprecedented success at Scranton. The Royals have finished in the top two at the conference championships in each of the past nine seasons, including four of the program’s six conference championships.

Over the past five seasons, 20 Royals have won individual conference championships, and the program has 46 individual champions in its history. Scranton swimmers have been named conference swimmer of the year or most outstanding swimmer seven times, as well as one diver of the year honor. Two swimmers have earned All-American honors, as well. Success goes beyond the pool, also, as Sarah Gazdalski (’01) was named Academic All-American twice.

Scranton annually competes in approximately 12 meets, plus the conference championships, with the schedule beginning in early October and concluding in early February. The team also takes an annual training trip during the holidays, including the most recent trip to Puerto Rico in December 2012.

Your gift helps upgrade training techniques and supports the team’s travel and meal expenses, as well as the annual training trip during the holidays, all while helping the team continue its quest for continued excellence.
