[MICRO]GRANTS: Women's Lacrosse

The University of Scranton women’s lacrosse team has established itself as a championship contender in the Landmark Conference over the past four seasons. The Royals qualified for the Landmark Conference playoffs in three of those seasons and have posted back-to-back seasons with 10-or-more victories.

Playing in a region with some of the best lacrosse in the nation, as well as a conference that annually boasts nationally ranked opponents, Scranton has developed a program capable of competing at the highest levels. In its 13 years of existence, the women’s lacrosse team has posted a winning record nine times and won 10-or-more games eight times.

Over the past five seasons, 17 women’s lacrosse players have earned all-conference honors. In the program’s history, one player, Liz Baumbach (’03), earned All-American honors while the team has seen players earn all-region honors eight times. Success isn’t limited to the field, however, as Bridget Lee (’03) earned Academic All-American honors as well as a prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.
