[MICRO]GRANTS: Men's Swimming And Diving

The University of Scranton men’s swimming & diving team has established itself as one of the top programs in the Landmark Conference over the past five seasons. The Royals have finished no worse than third in the conference championships each of the past four seasons and have set their sights on the first championship in school history.

Scranton annually competes in approximately 12 meets, plus the conference championships, with the schedule beginning in early October and concluding in early February. The team also takes an annual training trip during the holidays, including the most recent trip to Puerto Rico in December 2012.

The Royals have 17 individual conference championships, including five in 2012, and two relay titles in the program’s 26-year history. The team has also had success outside the classroom, as David Hovey (’12) was named the program’s first Academic All-American in 2012.

Your gift helps upgrade training techniques and supports the team’s travel and meal expenses, as well as the annual training trip during the holidays, all while helping the team continue its quest for continued excellence.
