The University of Scranton baseball team is enjoying a run of unprecedented success, having won 20 or more games in back-to-back seasons for the first time and averaging nearly 21 victories per season over the past five years. Twice in that five-year span, the Royals reached the Landmark Conference championship, as well.

Scranton plays a competitive 40-game schedule each spring that includes some of the top NCAA Division III programs in the Northeast. The schedule features 18 Landmark Conference games and a trip to Florida during spring break on which the team plays approximately seven to nine games against schools from across the country.

With eight Academic All-Americas, including six since 2008, the baseball program has a tradition of excellence on and off the field. The Royals are striving to bring home the first conference championship in school history and make their first NCAA Tournament appearance.

Gifts helps support equipment purchases, new uniforms, recruiting budgets and a yearly trip to Florida during Spring Break while helping the program continue its run of recent success.

“We’ve been working hard in recent years to make significant upgrades to the program in all aspects, and fundraising is a key component to that,” said head coach Mike Bartoletti. “We’ve been able to lessen the fundraising requirements for the student-athletes, which helps pay for our spring break trip and team gear, and we’d like to continue that trend. Support from alumni, families and fans can help us continue to improve the baseball program in all aspects.”
