We attended the University at two very different times in its history, but we found ourselves there for many of the same reasons. A significant factor in our choice to attend Scranton was its affordability, made possible with a robust financial aid package, thanks to scholarships and grants. That's why it is important for us to endow a scholarship for students in situations similar to ours.
Our University experience shaped us with strong Jesuit ideals and even stronger personal development. We both enjoyed a special relationship with Rev. John Gavigan, S.J., who, for decades, was vice president of student affairs. We've had a wonderful opportunity to honor him in the Pride, Passion, Promise Campaign by naming the Student Affairs suite in his name.
Giving back to the University enriches our lives and helps us to repay Scranton for all it has helped us to achieve.
