Stephanie Bressler

Dr. Stephanie Bressler worked for more than ten years for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She earned a Master of Public Administration before leaving government service to complete a Ph.D. in Political Science at The Pennsylvania State University. Her goal was to acquire a better understanding of the political process to help underrepresented groups gain access to the political system. 

Dr. Bressler was tenured at King’s College, Wilkes-Barre, where she taught Political Science and helped establish the Women’s Studies Program and the Public Policy Institute. She also taught at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and the University of Scranton before leaving higher education to return to community service. 

Dr. Bressler directed community revitalization, family literacy, English as Second Language, and citizenship programs at United Neighborhood Centers in Scranton. She continues to advocate for immigrant rights and women in prison and to promote more women in public service. She has worked on local and national women’s electoral campaigns. She currently serves as a board member of Progressive Women of NEPA and has been involved with Ready to Run since 2014.
