Disclosing and Documenting a Disability

Step One:

Submit your Verification Form for Students with Disabilities.
Submission Dates by which the University needs to receive requests in order to avoid a delay in providing accommodations:

Academic First Year June 1st
Housing First Year June 1st
Housing Upperclass January 31st

Step Two:

Submit appropriate documentation of your disability. New students need to submit documentation by the end of May to facilitate the process so that academic accommodations are in place at the start of the semester.
The University has adopted the Educational Testing Service’s (ETS) documentation guidelines. The guidelines can be found on our required documentation page.
Documentation and requests should be submitted to the Office of Student Support & Success (OSSS) by any one of the following means:

Fax: (570)941-4154
Email: disabilityservices@scranton.edu
Mail:   The University of Scranton
Office of Student Support & Success (OSSS)
           800 Linden St.
           Scranton, PA 18510

Step Three:

The University’s ADA Committee will review your documentation to determine eligibility for any accommodations. Please note that sufficient time is required to review all documentation. If additional documentation is needed, a OSSS staff member will contact you by phone once the review has been completed. Please check your Scranton email account frequently for any communications.
