50-Year Scholarship

Class of 1962 Scholarship

Our 50th reunion celebration is scheduled for June 8-10, and in addition to celebrating together on campus, we have a unique opportunity to commemorate our 50-year milestone by establishing an endowed scholarship in our class name.

Not only would this gesture provide permanent support for students in need, but it would also serve to imprint the legacy of our class on the history of The University of Scranton. Three 50-year reunion classes before us, 1959, 1960 and 1961, have successfully established a class scholarship. Together I hope we can uphold this tradition and continue setting an example for the 50-year classes to come.

Endowing a scholarship at our alma mater requires a commitment of $50,000. For this important effort, gifts can be pledged over five years and count toward our goal. For example, $500 annually for five years is a gift of $2500. I know many of us have generously supported the University in the past, and in this special year, I ask that we extend our generosity as a class to make a noticeable difference.

We have all in our own ways benefited from our education and our experiences at the University, and this is one way we can demonstrate our gratitude. Please join me in this effort to help current and future students.

If you have any questions about the scholarship, please contact The Royal Fund office at 570-941-7725. Thank you for your support and I look forward to reconnecting in June.

Sincerely,

John J. Price, Class Scholarship Chair
Past President of The Alumni Society of The University of Scranton
