From Dr. Joan Grossman

Faculty
I have a vivid memory of my first Mass of the Holy Spirit in the fall 2010, with my three children and my parents as they were with me to celebrate the beginning of my tenure at Scranton. I distinctly remember Fr. Pilarz had this incredible presence about him as he processed to the altar. He stood so tall and seemed to speak with his body language in a proud yet humble way. His exuberance was palpable. I remember feeling a deep sense of gratitude and excitement for the journey I was soon to begin, knowing he would lead us. I am deeply saddened by his passing. Thank you Fr. Pilarz for teaching us that the “classroom is a sacred space” and reminding us not to waste love. In deep gratitude.
