What We Do:

We provide a strong foundation in business and accounting concepts, theory and practice.

Our outstanding reputation for teaching and research is rooted in the Jesuit academic tradition of academic excellence, service to others and ethical values.

Don’t go to Harvard, but to the business school at The University of Scranton. That’s where they are changing lives.

Peter F. Drucker, the “father” of modern management

How We Stand Out:

Nationally and Internationally Acclaimed.

  • The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International), the foremost accrediting body for business schools, accredits The Kania School of Management. Fewer than 5% of business schools worldwide are accredited by AACSB.
  • The Princeton Review has listed Kania among its Best Business Schools for the past five years.
  • In 2008, Entrepreneur Magazine ranked the MBA program among the top 15 nationally in general management.
  • U.S. News and World Report also recognizes the Kania School specifically on its list of best graduate business schools.

Jesuit Education. The goals of the department are aligned with the Jesuit philosophy including a commitment to responsible stewardship and ethical values. Scranton accounting graduates are well-rounded and thoughtful contributors to society, attuned to people as well as numbers.

Excellent Job Placement. From year to year, 90 to 100% of our graduates obtain full-time employment or go on for graduate studies.

In addition to our four-year Bachelor of Science accounting degree we offer a five-year combined Bachelor of Science/Master of Business Administration degree.

Students may also receive a Master of Accountancy (MAcc), which is delivered entirely online and targeted toward recent graduates from bachelors in accounting programs, as well as young professionals working in public accounting firms (within their first three years).

Students can also opt to select a minor in Accounting or Accounting Information Systems.
