This event is only 5$ for up to 250 undergraduate students. Students MUST register by Oct. 1 to participate!
Choose from an array of downtown restaurants. Click on the links below to learn more about each restaurant. When you register you will be asked to select which restaurant you would like to go to. Each restaurant has a limit of students it will be able to accommodate so sign up now to reserve your spot!

Movie or Music Options
Registered Students will show their Royal Card to obtain entrance to a Movie in the the 9 o’clock set or the Listen Local music show, featuring two bands, Skin n Bones and Aayu.
7 p.m. – Arrive at Restaurant of Choice: DINNER
8-9 p.m. – FIRST FRIDAY Art-walk throughout downtown, including special Scranton Iron Furnaces Event
8-9:30 p.m. – Arrive at Scranton Cultural Center for Listen Local Show
9/9:30 p.m. – Arrive at Marquee Cinemas for 9 o’clock Set MOVIE
11/11:30 p.m. – Walk back to Campus in Groups
How it Will Work
Dinner is scheduled for 7 p.m. Students can meet in the DeNaples Center first floor at 6:45 p.m. and walk downtown together or proceed directly to your restaurant of choice. A downtown walking map can be downloaded here.
An RA or University staff member will accompany each group and will pay for your dinner. They will explain your options for ordering to keep within the $15 maximum for each person. Dinner should last approximately 1 hour.
Students are then encouraged to participate in First Friday downtown Scranton, which takes place at venues throughout the downtown from 6 – 9 p.m. A special First Friday map with the evening’s free art and musical offerings will be provided to you at dinner.
Bella Faccias, Chocolate Creations and Coconut Summer will be offering Free Treats from 8-9:30 p.m. You will receive a special coupon at dinner.
Students then have a choice of attend a Movie or Listen Local Music Show.
Movies and their start times vary. Please visit the Marquee website for details. Please note: the final schedule for October 4 will be available no earlier than 1 week prior. Students can attend their movie of choice in the 9 o’clock Set, meaning between 9 and 9:40 p.m.
For those attending the Listen Local show at the Scranton Cultural Center, two bands will play 80 minute sets starting at 8 p.m. and then at 9:30 p.m. and ending at 11 p.m. Students can arrive at any time between 8 and 9:30 p.m. Students will show their Royal ID card to gain free access to the movie and music show. Upon completion of the film or the music show, students will walk back to campus in groups.
You will be able to sign up for the event, indicating whether you will attend dinner, the movie, or the music. You can also pick your restaurant of choice and enter a friend's name. (If you choose to indicate a friend's name and email, he or she will receive an email encouraging them to register. They will have to register in order to participate in the program.).
