This event is only $5 for up to 250 undergraduate students. Students MUST register by Sept. 29 to participate!

Restaurant Choices

Choose from an array of downtown restaurants.  Click on the links below to learn more about each restaurant.  When you register you will be asked to select which restaurant you would like to go to.  Each restaurant has a limit of students it will be able to accommodate so sign up now to reserve your spot!

Registered Students (who choose both Dinner and Entertainment) will recieve a voucher to obtain enterence to The Leonard Theatre at 9 o'clock to see Shakespeare's The Tempest

6:45 p.m. – Meet to Walk Downtown: DeNaples Center Lobby, 1st Floor (optional). Students can also choose to go to First Friday activities prior to dinner, which runs from 6-9 p.m. throughout downtown. 

7 p.m. – Arrive at Restaurant of Choice: DINNER

8 - 9 p.m. – FIRST FRIDAY Art-walk, including Bike Scranton events, & DESSERT options throughout downtown

9 p.m. – Arrive at The Leonard Theatre for The Tempest at Scranton's Fringe Festival (optional)

How it Will Work

Dinner is scheduled for 7 p.m.  Students can meet in the DeNaples Center first floor at 6:45 p.m. and walk downtown together or proceed directly to your restaurant of choice (or go earlier and enjoy First Friday events which run from 6-9 p.m.  A downtown walking map can be downloaded here.

An RA or University staff member will accompany each group and will pay for your dinner.  They will explain your options for ordering to keep within the $15 maximum for each person. Dinner should last approximately 1 hour.

Students are then encouraged to participate in First Friday downtown Scranton, which takes place at venues throughout the downtown from 6 – 9 p.m.  A special First Friday map with the evening’s free art, musical and Bike Scranton offerings will be provided to you at dinner. 

Downtown eateries will be offering Free Dessert Treats, sponsored by the Office Residence Life and RHA, from 8:00 - 9:00 p.m.  You will receive a special coupon at dinner.

Students can then choose to attend Shakespeare's The Tempest at The Leonard Theatre, a part of the Scranton Fringe Festival. Please visit Scranton Fringe Festival for additional details.

You will be able to sign up for the event, indicating whether you will attend dinner and the movie. You can also pick your restaurant of choice and enter a friend's name. (If you choose to indicate a friend's name and email, he or she will receive an email encouraging them to register. They will have to register in order to participate in the program.)

Your registration is NOT complete until you pay the $5 event fee. You will be able to pay at the Office of Residence Life in Condron Hall Monday September 28 through Friday October 2 from 9am to 4pm.
