How it Will Work
Dinner is scheduled for 7 p.m. Students can meet in the DeNaples Center first floor at 6:45 p.m. and walk downtown together or proceed directly to your restaurant of choice. A downtown walking map can be downloaded here.
An RA or University staff member will accompany each group and will pay for your dinner. They will explain your options for ordering to keep within the $15 maximum for each person. Dinner should last approximately 1 hour.
Students are then encouraged to participate in First Friday downtown Scranton, which takes place at venues throughout the downtown from 6 – 9 p.m. A special First Friday map with the evening’s free art and musical offerings will be provided to you at dinner. We encourage you to stop at the Connell Building (129 N. Washington Ave.) for a special photo exhibit, “Latin America Through the Lens: A Mission of the Heart” hosted by the University’s Diversity Initiative.
Downtown eateries will be offering Free Dessert Treats, sponsored by the Office Residence Life and RHA, from 8-9:30 p.m. You will receive a special coupon at dinner.
Students will then attend a Movie of their choice.
Movies and their start times vary. Please visit the Marquee website for details. Please note: the final schedule for October 3 will be available no earlier than one week prior. Students can attend their movie of choice in the 9 o’clock Set, meaning between 9 and 9:40 p.m. Students can show their Royal Card to gain access to the movie.
We are very excited for this great downtown program.
