Student Transportation to Volunteer Sites
As you look through the agency descriptions you will see that some organizations are within walking distance from The University or are on/near the COLTS (County of Lackawanna Transit System) routes. However, many are not. The Center for Service & Social Justice has a minivan for transportation to and from volunteer sites during the academic year. Requests for individual transportation to and from volunteer sites need to be made at least one week in advance, either by coming in to our office in person or by filling out the request on line. Rides are available, based on the schedules of the student drivers, within the Scranton area. Sorry, but cannot accomodate transportation for Education majors doing Field Experience or Student Teaching. Please refer to the Student Teaching Handbook for more information.
In keeping with "Green" thinking, we ask that students whose sites who are on the COLTS bus route use this service in lieu of van transportation, if your schedule permits. COLTS bus service is now FREE with your Royal Card ID.
Just show your Royal Card to Ride! Its that EASY!!!!
