The Jay Nathan, Ph.D. Visiting Scholar Lecture Series invites international scholars to visit The University of Scranton to address issues that will enlighten and benefit students, faculty, and the community.  The lecture series also enriches the community through a cultural exposition in the arts or music. While visiting campus, scholars will deliver presentations on topics of interest to the academic community and meet informally with attendees, students, and faculty.

2023 Lecture: Denmark: History. Culture. Economy.

The Eighth Presentation in the Jay Nathan Ph.D. Visiting Scholar Lecture Series will be hosted by The Weinberg Memorial Library at The University of Scranton on Thursday, October 26, 2023. The University will welcome distinguished guests Ambassador Stig P. Piras, Cultural Diplomacy Advisor Frederikke M. Kristiansen, and jazz duo Jacob Artved, and Felix Moseholm.

While visiting campus, the ambassador will make a presentation entitled Denmark: History. Culture. Economy. The presentation will be followed by a cultural showcase featuring jazz musicians Jacob Artved and Felix Moseholm. The program begins at 5 p.m. in The PNC Auditorium, The Loyola Science Center.

A reception will follow. The event is free and open to the public thanks to the generous support of Dr. Nathan. Reservations are encouraged.
