Educational Effectiveness Assessment

The Office of Educational Assessment (OEA) provides oversight and coordination a campus-wide program of assessment at The University of Scranton.  It provides support for developing faculty and staff expertise in the measurement and analysis of learning outcomes at the course, program, and institutional level. In consultation with faculty, departments, and colleges, the office provides direction and consultation for analyzing and reporting assessment results. The office provides resources to faculty and staff for the effective assessment of the student learning experience and the promotion of best practices in assessment. The Office of Educational Assessment staff includes the Director of the Office of Educational Assessment, Dr. Mary Jane K. DiMattio, who is also serving as an Interim Coordinator of General Education Assessment, Prof. Nicholas P. Truncale, Interim Coordinator of General Education Assessment, Mr. Richard Walsh, OEA Assessment Analyst and Faculty Assessment Fellows

The Provost Assessment Scholars is a special program for students through the Office of Educational Assessment.  These student scholars investigate issues brought to them by “stakeholders” on campus by conducting student-led focus groups.  They analyze the focus group data and provide a summary report and recommendations to the stakeholders on the issue.  More information about the program can be found here:  https://www.scranton.edu/provostscholars PAS_CL2016
