Information Update - Spring 1995

New Librarians Join Staff

Two new librarians have joined the staff of the Weinberg Memorial Library. Narda Tafuri began Nov. 14, 1994, as acquisitions librarian with faculty status as instructor. Narda comes to us from Keystone Junior College where she was director of the Learning Resources Center. Previously she worked for the Modern Language Association for five years, and for E. F. Hutton and AT&T. Narda has a master's degree in library science from SUNY-Albany and an M.A. in anthropology with emphasis in archaeology from New York University.

New Acquisitions Librarian

Her experience included archaeological fieldwork excavating sites of the Middle Mississippian culture, a prehistoric Native American civilization. Among the innovations she is investigating for our Library are electronic ordering and access to other electronic resources such as Blackwell North America's New Titles Online.

Also new to our staff is Wayne Wheeler, who joined us in September as part-time cataloger. Wayne was formerly at the Hawley Public Library and is also a part-time reference librarian at the Scranton Public Library. He has his M.L.S. from the University of Arizona and his activities include singing with the Robert Dale Chorale.

We welcome these new members of our staff and hope that their careers here are happy and productive.
