Service & Policies - Fall 2009

Joining the Twitterverse

This February, the Weinberg Memorial Library became one of the estimated 6 million users of Twitter, the microblogging service that is currently taking the internet by storm. The Library is using the service in several ways. Firstly, we "tweet" about Library resources, activities, and events, to give our followers up-to-date information about what's going on in the Library. We also tweet announcements about new posts to our Library blog, Infospot@WML. On occasion, we'll ruminate about University life from a librarian's point of view. Most importantly, however, Twitter is yet another forum in which librarians can communicate with our students and patrons. We can receive feedback, answer questions, and just get to know our users in a new way. We invite all members of the University community, as well as our friends and patrons in the Scranton area, to follow us on Twitter at @UofSLibrary (http://www.twitter.com/uofslibrary).
