About the College
The nationally recognized Kania School of Management (KSOM) excels at supplying the tools you need to succeed in the increasingly global and technological world of business. There are ten programs of study within the school. Each is firmly grounded in the real world of business and organizational leadership and prepares the student for a career in business or for graduate study.
Alperin Financial Center
The Irwin E. Alperin Financial Center is a state-of-the-art financial research center. It features a simulated stock market trading room and 12 Bloomberg terminals that allow students to obtain hands-on experience with stock and foreign currency markets.
An electronic ticker, specialized trading software and live data feeds from currency, securities and commodities markets all serve students looking to perform real-time research.
The Kania School's faculty have a longstanding tradition of excellence in teaching and scholarship, combining professional experience with world-class research. On a daily basis our professors work creatively to enhance students' learning and preparation for a changing and challenging world.
Kania professors routinely make themselves available to students through a generous open-door policy. Students enjoy the school's strong sense of community and are able to find mentors to help them attain their career goals.
Professional Development Passport Program
The Kania Center for Practical Learning offers this exceptional program of professional development activities designed to ensure that students develop the non-academic skills necessary for succeeding in the world of business.
This additional curriculum includes seminars on such topics as resume-writing, interviewing skills, and job-search strategies. Completion of the program is a requirement for graduation.
Scranton's MBA program is ranked among the top in the nation. In 2015, the Kania School added a Master of Accountancy degree to its curriculum. In the accompanying video, you will see what makes both of these programs stand out.
The Kania School has been accredited by AACSB, The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, since 1996.
Business Leadership Honors Program
This program helps students develop the talents and skills necessary to succeed in leadership settings.
Executive in Residence Program
Each year the Kania School brings in executives from a wide range of backgrounds to meet with students and speak in classes.
Our mentoring program pairs juniors with distinguished alumni and other professionals who offer career advice and counsel.
