Scranton students

As part of the summer Orientation sessions, we put together an Orientation schedule to prepare you for your transition to the University and to allow you to get all your questions answered. Below you will see the full schedule, along with the options to view just the Day 1 and Day 2 schedules. A few tips to help you navigate the schedule:

  • For the Academic Life at Scranton, sessions were offered from each individual college. Please select the recording from you/your student's academic college.
  • Some events on the schedule will included both students and parents/guests as attendees. An asterisk (*) notes the events where students and parent/guests attended together.

Day 1


1:00 PM

University Welcome*

Students and families will be welcomed to The University of Scranton and receive an overview of the schedule and logistics, as well as an introduction to the Orientation Team.

2:30 PM

Academic Life at Scranton - College of Arts and Sciences*

Join staff from the College of Arts and Sciences to learn about curriculum requirements, the academic advising process, and how to succeed academically at Scranton.

Academic Life at Scranton - Kania School of Management*

Join staff from the Kania School of Management to learn about curriculum requirements, the academic advising process, and how to succeed academically at Scranton.

Academic Life at Scranton - Panuska College of Professional Studies*

Join staff from the Panuska College of Professional Studies to learn about curriculum requirements, the academic advising process, and how to succeed academically at Scranton.

4:00 PM

Success at Scranton

Meet with the Assistant Vice President for Student Life & Dean of Students and Orientation Assistants to talk about University expectations and campus engagement. The insights and experiences shared in this session will inform students on how to be successful members of the Scranton community.

5:00 PM

Residence Life*

This session will provide an overview of what life is like living in our community. In this session, students will meet the professional staff and student leaders who support residents and live in the residence halls.

Commuter Life*

This session will provide an overview of the commuter experience at Scranton and address questions that include parking, dining on campus, student employment, and campus engagement.

Mission and Ministry*

Join staff members from Campus Ministries and the Center for Service and Social Justice as they share the vibrant Jesuit heritage of the University and how we encourage students from all faith perspectives to further engage in our Jesuit mission and heritage.

2:30 PM

Fostering an Inclusive Community

Join the Cross Cultural Centers’ professional staff in a conversation about our strong Royal community, language, and how we all can and should contribute to an inclusive and welcoming environment!

4:30 PM

Now that you’ve completed your Orientation session, come learn about what to expect over the remainder of the summer in preparation for the Fall semester.
