With a title inspired by the University’s alma mater, A Legacy to Hold, A Future to Build is a beautiful, bound “coffee table” book that tells the story of some of the most significant moments in our history.

The moving history of The University of Scranton, A Legacy to Hold, A Future to Build, is now available for pre-order online, to be shipped by the end of May. The book will also be sold on campus, available in the University bookstore during the last week of May, as well as during Commencement weekend at both the graduate and undergraduate Commencement venues.

In 1888, the Most Reverend William G. O’Hara, D.D., arrived in northeastern Pennsylvania to found a college. Scranton has not been the same since. The remarkable story of The University of Scranton is told from those earliest difficult times through 2013, from barely-able-to-stay-afloat days to national prominence.
